I saw a lady the other day that had to be near 40 in a aeropostale sweatshirt & low-rise jeans & she looked adorable & younger than she probably was. I think that if you can look at yourself in the mirror with a slightly judgemental eye & think you look good then go for it. I have to wear low-rise to look good (no crack here though or anything hanging over). Also listen to your husband, they are not going to come right out & say anything bad, but if they think the outfit is unflattering or too young chances are good they will make some kind of comment, such as: did you accidentally get one of our daughters shirts out instead of yours (or something).
