I can really sympathize with you. Although Tia wasn't stepped on, she jumped off the couch before Christmas and broke her back leg. The put a pin in it. We are at 4 weeks now and hopefully, she will get her "cast" off on Friday. I'm not to sure where you live but I was told by the vet that Tia may have to get the metal removed. We live in a very cold climate and apparently the metal will really bother the dog. Big hugs to both of you and wishing a speedy recovery.
