there already has been. I know people that do PUg rescue or Beagle rescue that end up trying to rescue puggles but only end up having to euthanize in some cases because of temperment problems that just cannot seem to be dealt with.
I have seen labradoodles for sale because they were bought and the owners were allergic to the puppy.
I have known of hip displasia showing up in mixes. Genes don't care if they are in mixes or purebreds. If the gene or comibination is there in a mix coming from the dogs in previous generations, the dog will suffer from that genetic disease.
I have seen liver shunt in Maltese/yorkie cross pup, blown knees in cockapoos, disc problems in cockapoos where the dog had to be put down at only 6 years of age -- after having a couple of litters and who knows what the story on those pups ended up being. Cockapoos with severe allergy problems.
