There is nothing to it. I cut Coco's nails every couple of weeks. I cut little by little and tons of times I have cut her but it's really no biggie. She spot bleeds for a second then it's over. What I was taught was if you cut little by little you look at the nail itself. There is some white chalky stuff IN the nail. So when you cut the nail you should see circles of white in the nail. The less white chalk you see as you cut, the closer you are getting to the quick. So I usually judge it by that and haven't cut her in a while. I also file them afterwards. I lay Coco on my legs on her back and she just shakes but doesn't squirm that much or scream or cry. |
