I'm surprised your vet said it was from "stretching/growing skin." The first thing I would try is switching her food. Certain ingredients can cause allergies, for example, look for lamb, rice, and oatmeal. Another thing, when you bath her in a shampoo formulated for dogs use a conditioner to protect skin. The PH of dog skin is different than humans and remember to dilute shampoo before using. Rinsing is the most important part of this step.
