So my Little Chloe just got her first period on December 14th. I was told that her period lasts for 2 weeks and that during this time she is experiencing a false pregnancy.
Well, as of yesterday she was still experiencing some symptoms of "pregnancy" with her teets being EXTREMELY swollen. I never thought about the possibility of her being pregnant by my mothers "non fixed" 11 year old 85 pound Akita until I was told by a co-worker (and then later by my Vet) that "anything is possible".
The vet said that although they cannot verify whether she is pregnant or not until she is on her 45th day of the pregnancy, they can spade her and that will "terminate" the pregnancy.
Does this sound legit to everyone? I'm so confused and so upset!
