 Pita got a Prednisone shot
Pita's been so itchy lately for about a month it's been awful, I've had to keep a t-shirt on her so she doesn't tear herself up completely.
I thought it was something random but it didn't stop no matter how many baths or what I bathed her in. She's been miserable.
So yesterday we went to the vet and he gave her a Prednisone shot and she hasn't scratched at all, she slept so peaceful and sound last night.
He said I have to watch to see how long it lasts and that will give us some insight into whats causing the itchiness, like if it only lasts a few days we can assume it's her food.
If it lasts longer or until I let her go outside for a long period we will know it's an outside cause, we are in Florida so fleas are always an issue, even tho she 's never infested it just takes one trip into the yard and she can pick up a flea, i have her on Advantage now. I seriously think it's a flea allergy but we will see...
Anybody else have this problem? Does anyone know of any side effects to the Prednisone? |
