IMO (and I am certainly no expert, just a paranoid yorkie mommy
) when your dog has been around other dogs and then suddenly starts acting "weird" that's a huge red flag. You mentioned you had been seeing lots of puppies over the last few days, which means he was exposed to them and anything/everything they might be carrying - do you think he might have caught something from any of them? It definitely sounds like a trip to the vet would be worth it (to put your mind at ease if nothing else) or at least a phone call to see if they would recommend you bring him in.
