We had our German Shepard spayed (2 years ago) and our big lab neutered (last summer) - and neither one of them have changed - at all! It didn't mellow them out, keep them from roaming our land, etc. They are still just the same as they were before.

We had Mojo neutered too (right before Thanksgiving) - this was after about 4 or 5 cancelled appts. etc. It is a big deal! You have to think about everything, but we finally did it because of the risks that can occur in the intact males later in life....those out weighed anything else for us.

So far, Mojo is the same ole Mojo. He still uses the bathroom the same, but he doesn't hump anymore - I mean, he hasn't even had the notion to like he did before. He is still VERY active and is still has loveable as ever.

I too had heard that their behavior can change, but I heard that can happen too if they breed, etc. So, it must be a possibility either way. I truly think he (and you) will be better in the long run after having this done.

Mojo was dropped off the day of his neuter at 9:30am and I got to pick him up at 1:00 that afternoon (every vet is different) and he was like nothing had happened....brought him home and he was alittle groggy, but he was fine - in fact, everyone was amazed! We had that done before Thanksgiving and everyone figured he would be grumpy and not feeling well, etc.....but he was his cute loveable self!
