When we vacationed with friends in the FL Keys, they had a yorkie and I fell in love and told him I could give up cats for a dog like that. The following summer we got the first born from our friends. Reggie was our matriarch and died eight days after giving birth leaving me with 5 baby girls to hand raise. I'm getting ahead of myself. Reggie's sisters weigh 4 and 5 pounds, parents were 4 and 4.5 lb, her little brother Boomer was only 2.5 pounds full grown when he met up with a poisonous frog and was too small to fight off the poison. Reggie kept growing, and growing and was over 8 lb of kitty-likeness. Then we got Tucker. He also came from small parents but forgot to stop growing and is now 14.5 lb. He lays around all day flat on his back. Sassy is their first born who arrived on my foot as I sat working on the computer. MoJo and Sissy are also from Reggie and Tucker. We gave MoJo to our son because Cyrus was starting to get old but Mojo stays with us while our son works out of state. Sissy is a sissy, she runs and hides under the chair if anyone gets yelled out. When she was born she looked like she had no hair and then her ears went up. We called her Bat Girl for a long time because she was all ears. Then we got Gizmo from Louisiana so we could breed Sassy and Sissy. Gizmo looks like his head is blond in the picture but that's actually reflection from the sun. Actually, his head is almost white. Bo is also from Reggie and Tucker and we had no intentions of keeping another pup at that time but when Bo was only 2 weeks old, there was an accident, he had severe head trauma and I had to hand feed him. He will be 4 years old this October 29th. He has seizures now and then and totally freaks out if he gets a hair in his mouth. He learns just a little more with each litter we have but he will never be normal. He can't do steps, he spins, and he is a miracle. Roxie is from Sissy and Gizmo. She was the last born in a litter of 4, at 4am and Sissy ripped the cord off her belly and she wouldn't quit bleeding and I was having a hard time clearing her lungs. I sat with her on my lap, on a heating pad for 4 hours before I put her in with the rest of the litter. We bonded!!! Feebie we brought back from a trip to FL when she was only 5 weeks old but we were due to have puppies that week. Dinky is from Sassy and Gizmo. He and his brother and sister were born dark and stayed dark. He just had his first litter with Feebie. At least 2 of the pups should stay dark like him. But what is so amazing is Gizmo is so light. But the reason we kept Dinky is because we almost lost Gizmo last February when he and Reggie got into a fight after she was out of heat. We had no idea that Dinky was going to stay so raven black. Then there is Lovey Girl and Star. They are two of the girls from Reggie's litter that I hand raised after Reggie suddenly went over Rainbow Bridge. Lovey was the first born and the only one with white on her chest like her mama. Star was beautiful from birth and was sold twice but each time the sale fell through and I decided I simply couldn't part with her. Roxie took over the litter and heaven sent her milk. She truly is a miracle dog. Peanut is from Sassy and Gizmo's litter that was born July 5th last year. She and her brother Dusty were the smallest we've ever had and just had to keep her. We gave Dusty to our daughter's family because August 31st our granddaughter's dog, Blitzen, ran away. We searched for 5 days, put up flyers with a reward, talked to people in the area but he was never found. Our son-in-law was worse than our granddaughter with the loss. I couldn't take it any more and gave them Dusty, then I turned around and gave them Kira too. She was from Feebie and Spike who now lives with Faith in southern Ohio.
