My Montana left me on New Year's eve Such a crappy way to start the new year! I had to put my old Golden Ret., Montana, to sleep on New Years eve. It was sooo hard! She had been with us for 14 1/2 years. She had been doing really good except for being so skinny. She started throwing up on Sat evening and threw up all night. I took her to a 24hr clinic and they said that she had massive fluid in her lungs and that her heart was just giving out, so we made the decision to put her to sleep. Even though they were not my regular vet, they were very kind. Indy was funny for a couple days, wouldn't play and was very quiet. Hunter and Kansas were the same way. It's amazing how intuitive dogs are. They knew that something really bad was wrong because they wouldn't go near Montana all morning before we took her the vet. I know it was her time, but it is still so hard to let go. On the positive side, Indy's second bile acid came back normal, so now we have 2 normals in a row. He has to go back for an ultrasound before they will close his case, just to make sure that the shunt closed down this time. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for listening!! |
