Well we are trying to pee pad train him in a storage room off of the main room. (We have made this his room... food, water, pee pads, a bed, toys ect).
Being so new to our house I knew it'd take awhile to get him used to going in there... but yesterday he walked right over to a newspaper I had left on the living room floor and went to the bathroom. I was so proud of him, but I don't know if I should reward him if it is in the wrong room.  I really don't want him to go in the living room.
What are your suggestions? Should I leave a paper out in the living room for a while or should I work on only going in "his room".
I don't want him to get confused, but he is doing such a great job for only being here 2 days.

Since he is still a pup, if you are in the living room you can't expect him to get up and go to his room to do his business.
Whatever room you are in with him you should have a pee pad available to him and take him there to let him know that is where he should go. Since he's only 10 wks old he still cannot "hold it" very long. Give him lots of praise when he does make it to the pad.
If you want to have him concentrate on going in his room, try to have him spend most of his time in his room (of course with you spending time with him in there).
We did the same type of process with Pochi. Since we live in a 2 story home I couldn't expect him to run up the stairs and go in the bathroom pee pad when he was down in the living room with us. We wanted to focus on him getting to a pee pad all the time, first. So whatever rooom we were in we had a pee pad there. We had him spend most of his time in our bedroom since that is where his bed was and we had the pee pad in the bathroom(leaving the door open) he mastered the pee pad and knew it was in the bathroom and would go to it when he had to go when he was in our bedroom. When we had him go downstairs and let him roam without watching him every 30 min we only had pee pads in the living room and dining room and he sometimes would go on them but most times he would run up the stairs go to our bedroom and into our bathroom to do his business on the pee pad on there. It takes time and patience and lots of praise. I posted on another thread about how I think males are harder to train than the females but that is only my experience and opinion.
