I glanced over various pages (and did not read them all).
Folks, you need to eat several little meals a day. Preferably somewhere around 4 - 6 small meals.
Those of you eating only breakfast and dinner...this doesn't work. Your blood sugar levels spike and drop dramatically.
The key is to keep your blood sugar levels steady. If you don't, you end up being really sleepy, irritable, etc.
Reducing carbs is one thing, but total calorie consumption per day is also something to keep an eye out for.
For those of you that want to loose weight/burn fat, etc. I recommend working out, BUT I also recommend eating MORE. That's right. Eating more! BUT you have to eat healthy food.
Here is a typical meal plan that I would recommend:
Meal 1
Serving of Cottage Cheese (substitute yogurt if you want)
Banana
Meal 2
2 Hard Boiled Eggs
Small orange
Meal 3
Grilled Chicken salad (grilled chicken, cranberries, spinach, feta cheese, and balsamic vinagrette)
Meal 4
Carrots w/ hummus dip.
Meal 5
Seared ahi tuna on a bed of spinach w/ ginger dressing.
I adapted the following meal plan from my bodybuilding diet. This is something that I would recommend for anyone, as it is easy to make and is not that boring. I actually reduced the carbs in this meal plan.
You want to work out and build larger muscles. Why? Because w/ larger muscles, you burn more fat and calories (due to a high metabolism). And because you burn more calories, you get hungrier faster (if you eat "healthy foods" and not junk, because your body processes healthy food faster.
Women do not have to worry about getting bulky. It is very difficult for women to get large enough to have a massive muscular physique comparable to men.
Avoid fried foods - yes, avoid the fried chicken you ate last night. No bacon.
Avoid sodium filled foods - such as hot dogs, sausage, etc. No frozen meals as they are full of fat and salt. Salt makes you retain water.
If you want to do an Atkins diet, where you keep protein levels high,...stick to white meats such as chicken and fish. Avoid red meat.
