I have to say from the outset that I am anti-vaccines and I know a lot of yorkie breeders in California at least who do not even give the rabies even though it's the law. I would never recommend violating the law and all of mine have had the rabies, but I would put it off until the last possible moment and if you live somewhere where it is not required I would not do it.
There is a lot of evidence to suggest that we are over vacinating our pets and that these vaccines can lead to a lot of health issues from allergies to things as serious as hydrencephalitus and cancer. I have been meeting with a homeopathic vet who also practices western veterinary medicine.
These are all personal decisions we have to make for our pets once we have satified ourselves with our research. Every case is slightly different depending on where you live, the size of your dog and the risks in your dog's lifestyle. |
