Tampa is a big city. We live just north of Tampa, about 30 miles, in New Port Richey, just north of Palm Harbor!! As a teacher in Pasco Co for the last 26 years (yes I said 26), a school is what a student and parent make it. I have worked in public and private schools and I can tell you that the students who have parent support get a better education. You must know your child's teacher, write or email her frequently, ask your child about school daily, and check (NOT DO) your child's homework. Read to your child daily and keep a log of what you read, and ask your child questions (comprehension, sequencing, author's purpose). Good Luck finding a home and again..welcome to Florida!! |
