A friend with a new puppy brought over some Nutro's chicken, Joey really loved it, but some of the reviews I read suggested it was not a high quality food, so I bought Nutro's Ultra. It contains chicken, lamb, and salmon and got a much better rating for quality. He will eat it, unlike the Chicken Soup, but only when he's really hungry. Sometimes I can hear his little tummy growling and I feel so bad, and I'm tempted to give him a treat, which he loves, but then I think I'm just prolonging the problem.

People have posted lists about the best foods for dogs and since Chicken Soup was high on the list and so many dogs loved it, I think it's a good idea to try it. I'm having a problem deciding how far down on the list should I go; and are these lists really accurate. I've read that a lot of dogs like Royal Canin, but reviews on quality weren't that good, but I'm tempted to try it. One thing you should know Bama is any pet food purchased from Pet Smart can be returned. Good luck with your CS.

Max had always been a picky eater I give him and Abbie California Natural Lamb meal and rice and he really likes it. It's a good quality food but it's not sold everywhere. We get ours at a local groomer. Unfortunately, I've never seen a "trial" sized bag that you could buy to see if he'll eat it--I think the smallest bag is 15lbs. Whenever you decide to try a type of food, I wonder if you could write to the company and order a trial sized bag so you're not paying so much just to determine whether your dog will eat the food. I used to give Royal Canin yorkshire terrier and Max ate it but he didn't love it like he loves california natural and Abbie's stomach just stopped tolerating Royal Canin so I had to switch
