Even big dogs can have problems birthing..its not just the size of the pups,its how they decide to come out as well..one could be on its side and block the "outing" which would also mean a c-section..or even the simple fact that the pup comes feet first.
Here x-rays are not very cheap,about 60euros (over $60) but most people here have insurance which covers all this so as a rule we dont have to worry about it as we just give our insurance card in on our way out and the vet gets paid through our insurance company.Couldent your vet do an ultrasound to see if your female is pregnant? I think those are cheaper.
