I think it is easier to buy an older dog. Your well past the puppy stage and you know what you are getting size and personality wise. When we bought Tugboat I was actually looking at a 6 year old girl who was tiny. ( I thought I wanted a tiny Yorkie), but my husband didn't want to get a dog so old. I know things worked out for the best because I now know that I don't want a tiny after all. If she is what you want who cares about her age. There is no guarantee with a younger dog either. I have see people get puppies and then the puppy passes away when they are 2 or 3. You can't trust time, but you can trust your heart and if she is right for you then go for it, even if you get less years with her than you would a puppy it will be worth it if she has your heart. Does that make sense?
