Sorry to say but that is a big problem with pad training. You teach the dog that it's OK to go inside. So they think the carpet (or whatever) is fair game. When you train them to go outside you teach them to go on grass, which feels and smells completely different than anything inside. They also learn not to just go to a corner in the kitchen but to go to the door, get a leash on, go outside, etc. It is a routine that easily transfers to another home. |
