I'm not sure what Rocky does...depending on how long I'm goin to be gone and if he's already pee'd an pooped, I will leave him either in his crate or in my bedroom. In my bedroom he loves to sit on the bed and look out the window like a gaurd dog. In his crate I think he just sleeps.
He does get mad at me when I leave though. I pick him up to give him kisses and he just turns his head and sticks his nose up at me. But of course when I come home it's a different story...tons of kisses, then he'll start running to my bf to welcome him home, but he only goes like halfway up to him then runs back to me..this happens like 7 times LOL
