Ask the breeder to give you written instructions for feeding and care of your puppy, as well as a period of time to have the puppy checked over by your own veterinarian. always ask what the puppy is eating, that way you wont be changing its food.
ask them to show you both the sire and dam of the litter.if they are there.
ask for medical records for your puppy from their veterinarian.
ask if the parents have been genetic tested.
ask if they guarantee their pups free of genetic diseases common in the yorkie breed and replace the pup if any such disease appears.
 I hope this helps.

  * Those are all good tips! I especially like the suggestion to let you see the sire and dam or at least pictures of the two. That's a good way to know get an idea of what the pup might look like as an adult.
* You also might ask how much the sire and dam weigh. The AKC standard for Yorkies is 7 pounds and under. That's not to say larger Yorkies aren't lovable (one of mine is nearing 10).
