If she's anything like a typical Chinese mom, she won't have ONLY ONE request.
I can't tell you how many "this is my only request of you" I've heard from my mom. haha. My mom kept trying to talk me out of getting a dog. Guess who's always asking how my dog is and if he needs to be baby-sat this weekend?
Have you considered participating in a foster program for dogs? Perhaps providing a temporary home for a dog would get your mom to turn around on dog ownership.
