I have a 10 pounder and a puppy that should be around 5 lbs. My daughter likes our bigger girl better because she's more meaty and not so delicate. My big girl's parents were 5 & 9 pounds so I didn't know if I would get the larger or smaller size. Also she was the last to go out of the litter so I had nothing to compare with, but 3 or 13 pounds doesn't matter when you see how much unconditional love these babies give. The main concern I have is if your puppy's size is this much of an issue then it would probably be best for the puppy to have a differant home, especially if you haven't bonded already.
