Hello,

I need help. I used to hate dogs all my life because when I was young, they barked at me and chased me around. I have been scared of dogs all my life until one day about 2 months ago, a friend of mine lost her Chihuahua and told me to find a Yorkie for her. So I tried unwillingly and went to a pet store. Upon holding a Yorkie puppy in my hands, I fell in love and have started my search for my own Yorkie.

Well, I've done my research and all set to get one but then my mom told me that I absolutely can't have a dog because I was born in the year of the Dragon, I'm Chinese btw. According to all the monks and legends, Dogs are Dragon's mortal enemy. My mother told me if I adopt a dog, not only will it affect my wealth, carreer, but more importantly, my health will be in jeopardy and risk death. I know some men who were born in the year of the Dragon and married a woman who was borned in the year of the dog, didn't live too long and their marriage failed miserably. I'm not joking.

I was never superstituous to begin with but upon hearing all these stories and witnessing some of these, I'm a little precautious. But I love Yorkies to much and will gamble. The thing is that I love my mom as well and I don't want her to worry about me.

Are there any Chinese owners, especially men who were born in the year of the Dragon, who owns a dog? I was told about the legend that the reason why Dragons fear dogs is because one day while the Dragon was performing a spell, a dog interupted him and broke the spell. Since then, the dog has been the Dragon's mortal enemy. Is there anyway to break this curse? I know I can't have one, but I still come back here everyday to read up all the funny/sad stories here about your Yorkies. I jealous and I want one, please help anyway possible.
