I agree with the others. Tire him out before they get there and then put him to bed just like you would with a kid.

I would definitely put him in a crate, so no one could accidently let him out.

There was another thread where they had put the dog in the bedroom and one of the guests had opened the door and the dog ended up with a broken leg from having the soor closed on it.
