Biting and chewing is something they need to do at four months but it doesn't have to be on your hand or clothes. Anything you leave in his reach is fodder for his chewing. We try to keep toys around so we can substitute a proper chew toy for whatever it is we don't want Maddie to chew on.
When we catch her chewing something we give a quick, sharp, "NO!" and then give her a toy to chew saying "Good Girl!" when she takes the toy. Its tedious and I'm sure we'll do it for a while.
