Absolutely! I've never heard of a vet allowing the dog to leave quite so early... After Oscar's neuter and Ruthie's spay, I wasn't able to pick them up until 6 in the evening (same day as the surgery). It's perfectly normal for them to be groggy for the rest of the day/evening after the surgery. All Ruthie wanted to do was sleep for the rest of the night - the next morning she was running around as if nothing had happened. I wouldn't start to be concerned unless the lethargy lasts for more than a few days (this is what my vet told me).

Let your baby get her rest - she needs it!
