If your concern is that a larger Yorkie could hurt a small one, just remember this: (as much as it bothers me to say it) They are dogs , they have teeth , they can hurt each other. There's families where there are large and small dogs. My 3 are 5, 6 & 7lbs. They can hurt each other. One of the last puppies, 2.5lbs, drew blood on his momma's lip when he nipped her. My Maltese (RIP) broke his little brothers tail in 2 places when he tried to catch him just running through the house. That's part of multi-dog households. I would call it "complicatingly enhancing". Personally, I love it. It's 3X the love.
You're asking alot of good questions. You'll make the correct decision for your family.
