Thanks for that. Yes, it breaks my heart to see a big dog chained up in a yard with no interaction. That should never happen. My point though is that you shouldn't generalize with a subject like that. Just like there are many opinions on the pit bull issue. We need to be preaching responsible ownership and not bashing breeds.
I forgot to add earlier also that the insurance company my husband works for will not insure a pit bull owner but also they include other breeds, including German Shepherds. That's always a good issue to look into before getting a large dog.
