Our older dogs sulked for a month or so each time we got a new puppy. Then they become inseparable. Sadie, our newest little girl is rough and rowdy. She sometimes annoys our older dachshund. We have to pull her away and tell her "no" to the incessant licking and jumping. But Kate is just now starting to come out and want to play with her a little. Just not as much as Sadie wants. Ben has already been fully accepted into the "pack" and I almost felt guilty when I first brought Sadie home and upset the balance. But she is quickly winning the others over!
Give your older dog a little more time. Keep giving her extra attention away from the little one. |
