Did yours come with the pouring shield? It prevents some of the flour from being thrown out of the bowl. That problem is also worse when I double cookie recipes so there's a lot more flour in the bowl so I don't double the recipes in the same bowl--i use 2 separate bowls to add and mix ingredients
