Keep in mind that Petsmart groomer is probably repeating the same advice to every dog owner no matter if it is a German Shepherd or a Yorkie. It is not all the same. No way can I let the Yorkies go a month between baths! Now my Jack Russell? She is the cleanest dog I have ever seen -- she can go a month easily.

Mine all play fight all day long and get their saliva on each other. Ben, especially starts looking straggly after 3-4 days. So, they are getting a weekly bath and sometimes more if they need it. There are lots of in between clean-ups too -- especially the eyes, chins, and behinds.

I also use Cowboy Magic detangler diluted with water for brushing. That sort of cleans them up a little too.
