Unfortunately I had to have the c-section done at the emergency animal hospital which is more expensive than having a private vet do it...if I'd known Sabrina was pregnant I would have had all the test done to see if she could pass the babies on her own and if not I could have scheduled a c-section with my vet, but since he told me she wasn't pregnant I didn't think nothing of it, I could have saved $2000 if I would of known and had a private vet on call, the emergency charges $3500, plus Sabrina had to stay over night so that was another $250. If a private vet would have done the c-section I would of paid only $1700 which isn't bad compared to $3500. Connecticut is expensive anyway everything here is expensive, there is nothing cheap about this place, I need to move to Florida or somewhere where the living cost aren't higher than what you make on your job...seriously it is that expensive up here, I read other people's thread up here where they say they pay $45-$60 dollars for a regular vet visit, I pay $75-$120 depending on who I take my babies too, and $75 dollars a regular visit is the cheapest I could find, we need more vets in CT that are in it for the love of animals then for the money, seems like all the vets over here are in it for the money...When my girlfriend found out that my vet told me Sabrina was going through a phantom pregnancy she said he probably lied to me so that I could bring her back and he could get even more money out of me, I think she was right because I almost did consider bringing her back when I didn't see her stomach getting smaller.
