I forgot to say a couple of things....
I am a mail carrier and I can tell you from experience of 10 years, that the smaller dogs are worse that the big dogs for biting...but every dog will protect its property, even my yorkies will go nuts if they hear someone outside,
second If you going to get a big dog no matter what breed you need to get it trained...I had Max professional trained, which I went out on 4 times a week and was trained with him but he stayed there for a month and is going back for more training...The reason being, I put him in dog obedience class and he did really good, but I realized to have a dog of his size and reputation, because they are very protective of there family, I was going to have to get professional help, cause I would hate to see him bite anyone...So if you do decide to get one look into all the avenues you need to do for you and your boyfriend and yorkie, only you can make the right decision for your family...
