That's just weird. The person in your town is just geting that from the breeder then and probably doesn't know any better. Maybe the breeder has something worked out with their vet. I guess I'm really untrusting when something sounds odd like that.
If your vet is qualified and experienced, I would go with her. I would think that long of a trip would be somewhat stressful on your pup - but then again, I'm no expert.
