I am going to get Siu Pao neutered and am thinking of doing a bloodwork before neutering. my question is, is there a such thing as full bloodwork and normal basic bloodwork? Which bloodwork should I be doing before neutering? Does a full bloodwork includes a heartworm result as well or that is a different thing?

Another question is, my friend has a Cocker Spaniel and she is getting spayed too. She asked about bloodwork and the doctor said her puppy doesn't need one before spaying and said that a bloodwork is not important???? Does my vet (we go to the same vet) has a problem or Cocker Spaniels are healthier in nature?
