I found I wasn't leaving Kodak outside long enough, even when it got cold, I just had to grin and bear it and stay out with him. They have to run around and sniff a bit, then they pee. The poop is like 10 or sometimes 15mins later. Once they poop in the house, put it outside around the spot they pee at. They usually smell it and associate with being ok to poop outside. Make sure to reward him with a treat after he poops then bring him in. You may need to put the cat up for 15 mins & make that play time for him only. Take some rope toys and pull them on the floor to make him chase after it. Roll a ball back & forth. They are easily distracted, so I started with one toy at a time. Right after you play with him & after he eats, take him out to pee. Kodak is on a schedule now, I made sure to be consistent. I take him out as soon as he gets up, after he eats and after playing. When I'm gone for a period of time, I have a pad down. Now he holds it till I get in, and as soon as I walk in the door, we go out before I take my coat off. Good luck. |
