It takes sometimes for him to do number 2. When I trained my chelsea it took at least 5-10 minutes waiting for her to do number 2 even though I know it was the time for her to do so. I used crate training method. I did not let her run around the house since I got her. I also feed her 3 times in the same time 7.00; 12.00 and 18.00 so pretty much I knew when she would go to potty. The crate training really helps since it teaches her to hold. I put her in the crate for 1 hour with a lot of toy or treat, took her out to potty or pee and praised her. I would let her play in the house if she did her job outside (and I know she is pretty save inside the house). If she did not do her job she would be back to the crate for 5 minutes and repeat it again religiously. Eventually she understood hat she has to pee or potty outside. Also I took her in immediately after she did her job so she knew that the purpose of going outside was to potty. I would not change to pee pad since it would confuse him. Good luck ! |
