I've been giving my yorkie 1 tablespoon of cottage cheese every morning with his dry dog food since he was 4 months for the same reason, he's 2 and 1/2 years now. He loves it. About 6 months ago I stopped mixing it with the dry food, instead I placed it on the side and now he eats his dry food and saves the cottage cheese for last. When I started him on the cottage cheese I asked my vet if it was okay. She said it was good for him, it's healthy and will also help to maintain a healthy and shiny coat. I'm always getting compliments on my yorkie's coat. It should be the 4% type.
