,,,my puppy was shipped via airplane from Mississippi to NJ and he was perfectly fine when I picked him up at 13 wks. from the airport. Continental Airlines prides themselves on shipping thousands of animals by plane each day, and the accommodations are very good. The staff that handles the animal cargo suggests that dogs do better on planes when they are atleast 3 months old.

No dog can be shipped without a certificate of health, and the staff who handles the animal cargo are very experienced at what they do. The animals are the first passengers to exit the plane and they are driven to the terminal in their own special Pet Taxi Van.

Although I agree that planes are not the most ideal mode of transportation, I do believe that as long as the dog is being shipped to a safe and loving home, that is the most important thing...the airplane ride will be well worth it!
