I had the same question about it as you. I have a 70 lb shepard and a 5 lb Yorkie, The difference in the amount that you give really isn't that much. I spoke to my vet and she explained that you are giving the chemical to for after the fact. It's takes a certain amount to kill the "bugs" regardless of the size of the dog. I was worried that I would poison my baby. Mine is for the animals up to 10 lbs and of course for my shepard, over 50 lbs. Started giving it it Cosmo when he was just a couple of pounds and he is doing fine. I was so nervous about the whole thing but....... I can certainly understand where you are coming from. I always have a ton of questions for my vet. Having a Yorkie is much like having that premie baby. (I had premie twins) You are always worrying.
