This happened many years ago with my weiner dog. When I got Precious to the vet she was almost gone,, they called it "Milk Fever" tho, but sounds the same as yours. The vet had said nothing could be done for her, after seeing me become hysterical and slide down the wall in a puddle she said she could try one more thing. After being on the drip and meds for a day we had her another 12 years...14 in all. So don't lose hope, and please don't let the puppies nurse..keep in touch with your vet.
