Flax seed, which has oil in the seed, as well as many vitamins, has been shown to greatly benefit skin and hair. It can be purchased at Walmart (cheaply), and it is in many premium dog foods. Flax seed is the main ingredient of Missing Link, a popular product used by many forum members, for improving skin and hair. I would use this rather than canola oil.
