years ago the tiny one of the litter was called a runt and no one wanted them so they were priced cheaper but with brainless famous people strutting about with them these days have made people want them more than normal sized ones so the price of them have gone up..
I love the little ones. I am neither STUPID nor BRAINLESS. BTW -- I am pretty old and I have always liked the tiny ones, even before Ms. Spears was born. I think it is worth a little more to buy them from a responsible breeder who has smaller dogs that are within standard AND healthy. My preference, my money. I also paid a little more for the female I got that will probably be larger, but still in standard (under 7 pounds). She has a lot of other features I was willing to pay more for. Again, my preference, my money. I could have paid a lot less -- but why not get what I want? Why pay people who are breeding out of standard?

If you have never paid more for something you want than you could get by with, then throw a stone. But I think everyone has paid more for something because of personal preference. Think of your clothes, car, home, think of the things we buy for our own appearance, braces for kids, dye for hair. Why do we wear makeup, go to a hair stylist, get a manicure -- because we have preferences about what looks best. Why do most here pay the price for a Yorkie when a pound puppy needs love too? We have preferences.

People that rescue the hard-to-place dogs are doing a great service -- but that does not give them the right to call others names because of their preferences. I get tired of the bashing of people who like/want/or are selling little Yorkies. If people do not like little dogs, why are they even on a Yorkie forum? It's raining today, we still haven't found my son's poodle, and I might be a little grumpy -- but I do love the little Yorkies!
