Nursing in Uk is soooooooo badly paid and we are so short staffed it is unsafe I do not like working in the NHS. My pay a month for working 40 hours a week in a Secure Forensic Psychiatric Ward as a RN with 10 years experience and a degree in Psychology was $2000.

On top of that the main reason for our move is personal. We have been trying for a baby for 8 years now and had 14 IVF all either ended with a negative or a 2 month miscarriage. We were finally told we would be unable to have children and my wonderful amazing sister offered to be a surrogate for us!!! She called me and was like ENOUGH if you were lying in the hospital and needed a kidney I would be there in a flash and this is no different. She is so desperate to help us achieve our dream of being parents.

So we decided thats it I couldnt live the other side of the world anymore from the person who loved me enough to give me the child I couldnt have. I also wanted to be close for the pregnancy and for my sister to see her miricle of love growing up if we were lucky enough for the surrogacy to work. So my sister is going to start trying for us once we are settled in about 6 months time!!!!

I read of you preparing to move..so glad you are over on our side of the pond now, LOL Will it be hard for you to get your nursing license here in the US, I hope not, but you will be astounded at the pay nurses get here, my sister is one. Just wanted to say your story of your sister wanting to help you and your husband be parents is amazing and an act of true love that touched my heart. Congrats on your move-I am sure you will love it here!
