first of all... this is the first time I've seen people lucky enough to live in the Syracuse area on here! My baby barks at every strange noise he hears. Again, as said before, no means no. He will stop barking on no unless he is really agitated. I have the same problem as many when I call him. He comes close enough to me to acknowledge that I called him and then takes off. I spend time each day now training him to come with treats and have enrolled him in obedience classes. I'm afraid that when summer comes, someone will let him out by mistake and if he does not come on command, he'll be gone. He's the second terrier type I've had and the other one did the same thing. Obeys in the house and runs like a madman when loose! The leash training idea is great and I will try it.
