It's a good thing you are a member of this group and have so many knowledgable people willing to help you.  Unfortunately we sometimes give our vets more credit than they deserve.  It's only natural.  They went to school and they should be the experts but since they have to have a broader knowledge of many animals, they sometimes don't know the details like those that have only specialized in one breed.     
I'm glad the breeders have offered to step up.  You might feel a little cheated in not knowing exactly who the father is but if you think about it, anyone can be untruthful.  It is extra important if you will be breeding but if this is a pet, you really don't need to register your puppy.  I registered Debbie but looking back on it, I don't know why I bothered to give the AKC $15 when there was never any doubt that she would be spayed.     |
