The problem is that breeding just to get and sell tiny yorkies is wrong. People are just trying to get the information or word out there to try and avoid bad breeders from doing this on purpose and from people (public) wanting to buy these small dogs. It is a "Craze" right now ~ it is a catch twenty-two situation. People that breed for money will do their best to produce small yorkies and then call them "teacups" just to give a cute image for a greater demand- thus creating a bigger problem and the cycle continues. It has to stop somewhere to prevent any other female yorkie and pups from unneccessary death. Just take a look at the news Forum: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...684#post860684 Japan News. This is so sad and something has to be done.

I have had small yorkies myself in the past that only got to 2.25 pounds and they were healthy, but I was not breeding to get these small ones. I had a 5 pound bitch and a 4 pound male and just happen to get a few small ones. Do I prefer them - no. You really have to watch them around the house since you don't want to accidently step on them or any of the yorkies. Just more damage can happen if they were to accidently get underfoot, etc... It is also harder on the vet to work on them - teeth cleaning, etc.. more of a risk.
