Corinne, moose can weigh up to 1,500 pounds. They defend themselves by rearing up on their hind legs and launching their front legs forward. I saw a video on youtube where a moose and its calf stomped on a guy by just walking on him.
As for antlers, yes, they shed them every year. A lesson in ungulates: Anything with horns keeps them for life. Anything with antlers sheds them yearly. |
