I have Abigail (13 m/o Yorkie) and Mozart (12 y/o mix) and I never 'do teeth'. They seem to have strong, tartar-free teeth from grinding on the RAW bones in their diet. Neither of them ever have bad or 'doggie' breathe. When I took Mozart in for a first exam by his new vet (old one and I had disagreement about vaccines), she guesstimated him to be around 7. He was 11 at the time. When she looked in his mouth, words like "amazing" and "that's just awesome" came forth. She's never suggested a teeth cleaning - so far.
